Can my spouse and I create a join will? What about guardianship?

Qwill doesn’t currently support the creation of a joint will (or a joint guardianship document that’s attached to your will). While it’s technically legal – in most states – to create a joint will with your spouse, many estate attorneys advise against it, as it can lead to long term tax and planning complications. If you’re interested in making a joint will (or joint guardianship document), please reach out to an estate attorney in your area.

Note: Even without a joint guardianship document, you and your spouse can still ensure consistency by choosing to name the same preferred guardian(s) for your children in your individual wills.
